RSG is probably a good idea too! Think you can do both together for about $200. Need it to work in casinos etc. Even if you're just on the bar

Oh cool Whats thats training for? Do you have to have it to work in a bar?

Yep, a quick Google of RSA NSW should bring up this link for you: http://www.olgr.nsw.gov.au/courses_rsa.asp (I have presumed you're interested in working in Sydney).

In any case, the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) accreditation is a mandatory requirement and differs between states. You can read more here: Hospitality Institute of Australasia

P.S. You can also check out Seek online through http://www.seek.com.au/. If you don't have any luck there, check out the other job sites listed in the guide

didnt have a clue about this! thanks for the info! thats crazy though you have to do all that just for bar work.
is it hard to get and how much does it cost do you know?
does it cover you to work in every state?

Should be easy enough to get. Have go do it for each state you go in. Think it's about 120 just for the bar one in Sydney, haven't checked other states.

The HIA link above will give you the info on the differences between states. Easy to get (especially the online ones) and I agree with the RSG suggestion from RyanHill23. You may find it helps you get jobs in pubs that have a gaming aspect, even if it's just pokies (slot machines).

Ok Thanks for all the info :)
looked at the online ones to do before i go, are they all legitimate?

Can't do online ones for NSW anymore, don't think you can for Victoria either?

Yeah, as per HIA link "Victoria, NSW and Tasmania do not accept online RSA training."

Also, .gov.au and .edu.au are legit government and education organisations, respectively.

We've booked banana benders for a hostel for a week while we sort our bank account and tax file number then were going to find a regional job ASAP to get our second year visa!
