So the journey has begun hehe so exciting!
Hired a car from my home city of Norwich and drove it down the heathrow, (a11 was closed so had to make a huge diversion to get to heathrow in time), then flew to singapore where i had a 6 hour block booked in the airport transit hotel (is awesome, you don't need to clear immigration and its ensuite so you can shower and get a few hours kip), then onto brisbane, had a 3 hour stop there and the swap from the international terminal to the domestic terminal (skytrain takes like 2 mins ), then flight on to cairns and now chilling in my unit!.. would highly recommend renting one of these units if you don't want to stay in a hostel, would even be cheaper if you had three of you in here as its got a double bed and big sofa.
Met some cool people on the way already, barmaid at brissy dom was a good laught and also got chatting with a fella and his wife who had just flown in from calcutta, he turned out to be the president of the rotary club in india and was telling me how he was setting up/travelling to raise funds for hospitals in the country for the partially sighted, lovely bloke, even gave him a random arm massage lol (yes i know slightly bizzare) as he got cramp...
doubt i'll have much to say the next couple of days as am exhausted lol
Nice one, I bet you're buzzing! Are you planning to go up to Daintree/Cape trip while you're in Cairns?
What's the place you're staying in? I'm there in September and was gunna either couch surf or go to a hostel. Is it like an apartment or somethin then, what's the website I can find it on? Cheers
hey talyn, its a studio apartment, i use http://www.rentalsshortterm.com.au/ great to deal with, think i've rented through them up in cairns for 5 months in total during my comings and goings haha, if you need any more advice or help just say
