All his strangeness, odd comments, bizarre appearance, etc. etc. aren't proof positive of his guilt - although they don't bode very well for him, either.

It's so odd that people take sides in cases like this - who knows what happened except the people directly involved? It's up to the courts to decide. Everyone else can only base their opinions on the media, and they can be pretty fickle, at best.

I think that he's as guilty or as innocent as OJ Simpson.

. Especially since some of the prosecutors witnesses haven't been too solid...

Until yesterday...some out of court settlement with another kid (now 24) was presented to the court yesterday. He IS the strongest prosecution witness so far, even more so than the accuser.

At first I thought he was innocent and people were after his money but after reading some pages of the pre trail testimonies, there are too many coincidences, too many instances and too many children involved. I think I have now changed my mind about his innocence. The trial has been quite public so far, but even though I dont follow it on a daily basis, enough has been shown for us to become standby jurors and form our own opinion. I think he will be put away, if so...God help him.

i dont know much about the trial. but i do know that most child molesters carry things that attract children. like little puppies, kittens, toys.... neverland ranch.

i dont want to believe micheal jackson is a child molester, but it seems that his reality is kind of upside down, and people who are closest to him are feeding him wrapped information. im really sick of hearing all the tv press and dramatic reproduction of the court case. i think he is a freak anyway, a child molester... could be.

OJ still burns me up....I READ the court transcripts...the evidence. HOW did Nicole and Ron Goldmans blood end up in OJ's kitchen sink? (That is just one of a thousand questions I had) But I could not figure out how 12 people who saw all this evidence came to the conclusion of 'innocent'?? (Then he is found guilty in the civil trial) Our court system pisses me off to no end sometimes :( ! As for MJ, I really don't know, I haven't followed his trial, but I saw the special on 20/20 that Bashir (sp?) did...and just seeing him sitting there holding hands with these little boys...talking about them all sleeping in his bed....just made me shudder. I don't think a 40 yr.old man has ANY reason to sleep with a child!

"...Wocca, surely just because you aren't a part of that legal system doesn't mean you have no opinion whatsoever on the matter? By that standard I would only concern myself with what is going on in my own country, making me very shortsighted indeed ..."

Perhaps I am being very shortsighted by NOT subscribing to trial by media. And, this sort of thing goes on all the time in my OWN country ... Australia.

Under the Westminster System, the legal burden of proof in civil cases is "the balance of probabilities". For criminal cases, "beyond reasonable doubt". So far as I'm aware, Jackson is facing criminal charges. I'd prefer that a duly sworn, unbiased jury make a decision based on the facts presented in court rather than by public opinion.

Regardless of who the accused may be, the maxim "innocent until proven guilty" should prevail.

My point exactly, I knew you had an opinion Not having one is not healthy (plus it would bode poorly for all those threads in the off topic forum if no one had an opinion anymore!)... I also don't think what we say here on this board is going to put MJ behind bars or not, but that doesn't mean it can't be discussed. Like I think most of us will agree, everyone is innocent until proven guilty

Thanks tway. Nice to read your comments

This comment feels a bit like a 'I told you so'... maybe I am reading this the wrong way but just because tway posted along the same lines as you, doesn't make a comment like this necessary. This is an open forum where discussion is (hopefully) stimulated. Personally I think it's nice to read everyone's comments, even if they're dead against mine!

Classic comment, a real thinker :)

True! I think difference of opinions are definately more interesting then, going with what the current trends seem to be. I love all these threads. Def keeps me coming back for more.

Whether he is guilty or not, I think that public opinion is mostly against him now. I beleive he had a very strange upbringing so his version of reality is not close to the norm. I don't beleive he did himself any favours taking part in a doccumentary. Whatever happens now I beleive that he may receive an OJ.
