"... This comment feels a bit like a 'I told you so'... maybe I am reading this the wrong way but just because tway posted along the same lines as you, doesn't make a comment like this necessary. This is an open forum where discussion is (hopefully) stimulated. Personally I think it's nice to read everyone's comments, even if they're dead against mine!..."

Hey Sam,

I think you may be reading too much into it.

Cheers

I think it's money does not buy you happiness, it just helps.

haha! I love that one! Money doesn't buy happiness, but it makes misery easier to take;)
I hate so say this..I have been to both places...having MORE than enough money...and having no clue where the next meal was coming from....I was happiest when money was tight. Money can bring nothing but grief. And when your poor, you know who your friends are.

My point exactly, I knew you had an opinion Not having one is not healthy

Hi Sam,

I see what your getting at (and I know you were kidding, too!), but if you say that you don't have an opinion on something - isn't that essentially voicing your opinion? Hmm. A paradox!

As Rush sings: "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."

I honestly have no opinion on this Michael Jackson trial, other than to believe the media makes a mockery of the law and taints the trial. Although I admit that, when it comes to OJ, the evidence presented leads me to think he got away with murder.

Maybe it's because the Michael Jackson case is very he said/he said. Did anyone see the Law&Order SVU episode about the girl who claims the guy raped her, and he claims she wanted it rough? The last line of the episode is: "We find the defendant..." They simply wouldn't/couldn't speculate.

Bravo Tina! Rush and Midnight Oil, two of my favorite bands that have lyrics that are actually thought provoking!

Well said, Joz. My husband and I still talk about the times in which we had nothing, we met working together at a gym and we quit the same day (there was a bunch of bs going on then) and we had nothing but the last paycheck coming to us. We would to the beach, eat pizzas for lunch and dinner and assault his mom's refrigerator looking for food , but we have always said, those were the happy times.

And yes, our TRUE friends were the only ones around...

I'm not necessarily saying that I'd be happy if I was poor because that probably wouldnt be true. But the time if my life where I can remember being the most happy was when my boyfriend (now ex) and I moved into a house in Dublin in the summer after first year in college. We were so broke. We survived off those pasta meals that you have to rehydrate, penny sweets and apples. We were so starved, we should have been arguing all the time but we never did. I got a job packaging Baileys in a factory for a while and when I'd get home every evening he be there and would have drawn something for me during the day or picked some flowers from someone's garden for me. Then he got a job for a while when i was out of work and we just continued like that for the summer. I probably lost half my body weight that summer and of course it was terrible never being able to afford to anything other than share the odd pint of beer, but it was the happiest I've ever been.

And all that is relevant to Michael Jackson because I used to listen to Michael Jackson at that particular time in my life.

I think he's guilty.

This is a guy that happily admits to sharing his bed with children, and who has in the past paid millions so that a similar allegation has not gone to court.

He's making a mockery of the public, his fans, the law, and the victims.
