Hi guys!

I've got a few q's about travelling in North America this July - can someone have a pop at answering them? Cheers.

1. Anyone know what is the cheapest/best way to travel south to California from Vancouver? Is there a coach/railcard that gives you unlimited travel etc?

2. Or is it cheaper to fly from Vancouver/Seattle to LA/ San Fransisco?

3. Do they charge you at the border to enter the US from Canada?

4. Is Mexico easily accessible from LA for a couple of days or is it too far just to hop over the border?

5. Does anyone have anywhere for me to crash?! ;)

All info greatly received.

1.&2. very close in price. Amtrak has a route, here is more info
http://www.amtrakcascades.com/

3. No charge to enter the country:) But I will gladly let you across the border for a Hershey's!

4. It is about 140 miles to Tijuana Mexico from LA, just a hop/skip/ and a jump from San Diego!

5. You can sleep in my guest room...but it is in Michigan;)

Hope this helps! :)

Take the train! It's a lot more scenic and waaaaaay more comfortable than the plane, although it naturally takes longer.

Have you tried www.hotelclub.com? I've used them several times, and they have great rates (most of the time).

She's in Michigan, I'm in Missouri--you're not having much luck!

I also think there are ferry's from Vancouver to Seattle... not 100% sure though. There are some from Victoria to Seattle wich would work.

Hi

don't know if its cheaper to fly from Seattle
but last year i went from Vancouver to Seattle on Greyhound, was quite cheap, took about 4 hours but i'm sure we had to pay when we crossed the border, wasn't much though about £5 GBP

The Greyhound isn't the funnest way to go. It is better to fly-cheap or hire a car. Even hitchhiking can be good, if you know how to do it.

Peace,

Steph
