Hey everyone!

My friend and I are Scottish girls currently travelling round Australia. At the minute we are living and working in Darwin and are looking to take a weeks holiday to Bali in August.

We are unsure of the best area to stay in...

We are looking for beaches, water sports, yoga, spa, tranquility, nice places to eat out and a few nights out - basically a chill out week!

I've looked at Ubud, kuta and Seminyak but not sure where would suit us best and we are open to any other suggestions...

We would like to book a nice hotel as this will be a treat so if anyone has stayed in a nice 4/5 star hotel please let us know.

Thanks in advance

Louise :)

Hi Louise,

I'm heading to Bali in November 2014 to relax at the end of a round the world trip. We're booked into the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Kuta. I know it's a very commercial area however the hotel is amazing (http://bali.grand.hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html?src=phd_gh_ppc_google&mckv=saTnk9WkH_dc%7Cpcrid%7C44273232760%7Cmtid%7C5296pn13795).

I hope you all have an amazing time!

Ubud is lovely and tranquil, but sinse it's near the centre of the island you have no beaches and nightlife is limited in Ubud to say the least.

To get the best of both worlds why don't you split your week between Kuta and Ubud. I stayed in the "Alila Ubud" which is perfect for a relaxing getaway.
