Travel Forums Europe Working VISAs in for Ireland

I recently applied for a job in Dublin and hopefully I will get the job. I am an American citizen and I am wondering if anyone knows the VISA process for Ireland. Would it be hard to obtain a VISA if you were offered a job already? Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

Fingers crossed that you get the job and hopefully the above links would help. Try calling your local Irish Embassy and see what they have to say. I don't think it's as difficult as a European trying to get a Visa to work in America but I wouldn't be 100% sure.

So best of luck!

When I first came over to Ireland I had to get a Visa as well, and I met many people in the company who had to get one as well, and nobody had any problems at all.
My company was taking care of all the applications and stuff and I was given the confirmation a few weeks into the job. Just make sure that when you arrive and don't have your visa yet, but the job confirmed that you tell the customs officer you're here on holidays, not for work. I made that mistake myself and got into major hassle, and that's the last thing you want after a long flight.
So, good luck with your job and don't worry too much.
