I'm travelling solo to Sydney in September 2014 for a year with a working holiday visa. Looking to meet some friends along the way, would be great to make some friends before I arrive. Not starting work for the first month so lots of time to explore and meet new people. I'm looking at staying at wake up hostel - any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated! If any of you have similar plans it would be good to hear from you :-)
Tons of places have in Sydney to view and enjoy your trip such as Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Royal Botanical Gardens, Luna Park, Darling Harbour, Sydney Tower. Sydney takes in lots of popular museums such as Australian Museum, Powerhouse Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Australian National Maritime Museum. Here you find only legal casino in Australia The Star. I wish spend a nice time in Sydney.
Hey, I am landing in Sydney on the 12th and staying at wake up too. There seems to be quite a few of us on here in the same boat. I've got my first week booked with ultimate oz but have nothing planned yet for after that week. Jenny x
Hey Jenny, I have absolutely no plans I'm just gona see where the wind takes me! Ultimate oz sounds good though. I didn't think this many people would get in touch, at least we're all in the same boat xx
Hey guys just a quick question , do you think 85 litres rucksack is to big ? I've found one for £35 and it's regatta so it's a half decent make to, I don't mind taking slightly bigger
I think that's a good size - mines 80 litres! Decent ones are hard to find I think you'll be fine with that
What make is yours aha? Reading reviews and and most are saying straps are snapping off
I got it for £20 off eBay! It's a karabar make - manaslu top loader if that makes any sense. I took it to creamfields last year it was far too heavy for me and almost pulled me over but the straps are fine haha I've also got a karrimor 70 litre one off sports direct for £35 it has wheels and a extendable handle if you get sick of carrying it on your back - very handy
That's well cheap! And are you taking 2 ??
Just a heads up there is a lot of things on this forum about bags and alot of people say the ones from sports direct are cheap but the zip goes very easy i got 85L but im 6ft and semi pro rugby player so should be fine me. i got it from blacks bit more up market but you know what your getting is good ! the straps also fold into the back of it so that they dont get stuck on the convayer belt.
i'll just take a sainsburys bag for life, the 20 p ones. see how long it lasts! haha.
