That's it...just remembered what i was going to ask you people!...so here goes...does anyone know if it makes any difference (price wise) going from ----->

london-sydney-cairns-brisbane-goldcoast-sydney-london

OR

london-cairns-brisbane-goldcoast-sydney-london

As i am doing the quantas trip planner and want to see what you good people think-THEN oh yes i will get a quote from them and book my ticket-wahoo-at very, very, very long last!

The first should be more expensive since you are doubling back down to Sydney. Cairns/Sydney/Brisbane/Melbourne are usually substitutable on Qantas flights as arrival/departure cities (depending on class/dates etc.).

Thanks Sam-that's what i thought. When i first got a quote from them (based on the first route) it came to just over £1000-which i thought was too good to be true, i am waiting for them to get back to me about the second route!

Hi

Suggest you go for an E-ticket if you can.

As you can't book flights 12 months in advance you will need to make flight changes and I have just discovered that if I had purchased an e-ticket I wouldn't have to pay for flight changes as the ticket wouldn't need reissuing.

Something worth enquiring about, I wish I had.

Good Luck

Paul

hey,

just a thought... you include going from brisbane to the gold coast in your itineary- i'm not sure if you're counting this as a flight or as a overland route. the gold coast is only about an hour or two drive from brisbane so there is really no need to fly. i'm sure there are plenty of buses that cover this route!! otherwise, i think the top route would probably be cheaper as it avoids doubling over where you have already been. just check that having cairns as an arrival destination is the same price as arriving at sydney.

cheers,

Asi I said in my PM, that's the best way to go. Also, as soliqa says, the trip from Brisbane to the Gold Coast is about 45 minutes - BY CAR! Hence, no plane ticket required!
