A friend and i are planning a long trip to hopefully take us around the world, i am wondering what sort of issues i may come across with visas and border crossings, as this is my first trip i do not know much!

Can i just walk up to any border crossing in the world with my passport? Or is their countries where i need visas just to travel through? Any places i should avoid at all costs? Any help would be greatly appreciated.:)

There are lots of countries that you can just show up and get in, but there are a lot that you must first get a visa. The requirements vary depending on what country you are from and what country you would like to visit. Its pretty easy to look up the requirements online. Russia is the only country I have been to so far that requires a lot of planning ahead.

One persons must avoid is anther's must visit.

How do you plan to travel?

Haha thanks for the welcome! Yeah I am from the UK as it happens, looking to set off around 2016 so have a little while to plan, but our chosen method is cycling!
