Hi

I am planing a backpack trip to Europe in month of October (Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain). I was going through website of VFS and all countries require certain documents which I am not sure if I shall be able tofurnish. Need help as to how should I proceed :

1. Letter of leave from the company : I shall quit my job in Sep 2014 and intend to travel in Oct 2014 before joining/looking for an opportunity in any organization. So arranging a letter from the company is out of question. If not salaried, the visa authorities have asked for self employed letter (which is not the case here). I can provide salary slips of last three months but not the letter from the organization. How should I proceed and what can be right course of action.

2. Lot of travel agents have been flooding me information like "Bachelor travelling alone has a very slim chance to get visa for Europe", "first time visa to Europe for tourism is out of question for a bachelor" - is it a myth or are things really that difficult.

I have been to Thailand, Hong Kong, South Korea and Philippines (All business visa). Would that support mycase

3. Some agencies have suggested to apply for UK visa and then for Schengen visa - I am not sure if its gonna help by chance.

I would really appreciate if some one can share some insights or persoanl experience or probably how to go about things and for which country should I submit my visa application.

Also, I am planing trip for 25-30 days. Will I be able to get visa for that long duration.

Need HELP !!

As usual with almost all visa questions on this forum you failed to mention the single most important piece of information, your nationality.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

@CheersT : Apologies. I am an Indian passport holder.

Ouch, it's not easy for an Indian National with no business/family ties to get a Tourist Visa to many places and Europe is no exception.

Do you live in a major city? Is there a Germany, Netherlands, France or Spain Embassy close to you?

Cheers,
Terry
