I think the truth is, there are no winners, there are always casualties. Sometimes those in the middle of a situation cant see the wood for the trees or as they say "look with rose tinted glasses". I do beleive sometimes it's better not to know but also a leopard never changes it's spots.

Tell the truth, tell the truth, tell the truth. We tell white lies to protect our own selves.

Oops, forgot to answer the affair question!

Not only would I expect to be told about the affair, I could no longer trust the friend(s) who kept the truth from me. I want, always, to know the truth about my life. An affair may be a spur-of-the-moment thing, a mistake, a terrible choice, and it will damn well hurt - but hiding it afterwords? That's the unforgivable part.

I feel the same way. I HAD a friend who kept the truth from me once. I couldnt trust her anymore. She was trying to spare me of the potential pain but I was more hurt and humilliated by being the only one not knowing the truth.

On the other side, is stretching the truth considered a lie?
