Ive read somewhere that a Kenyan visa will enable me to enter Tanzania and Uganda as well (Im a US citizen). Anybody have any personal experience with this? Can I fly into Kenya with a Tanzania visa only? (Kenyan visas are more expensive than Tanzanian visas--for US citizens). Thanks.

My understanding is that you can travel between the three countries on a single entry visa for each country, instead of having to buy the more expensive multiple entry visas.

You still need to get visas for each country.

You definitly need one visa for each country!!! It's 50 USD for Kenya and Tanzania, 30 USD for Uganda and for me Rwanda was free (Swedish citizen).

And dont forget Rwanda, if you gonna do a roundtrip! Great country! =)

Tanzania> You pay at the boarder when crossing over.

Greg, hate to bug you again...since I am thinking about flying into Nairobi, can I get one single visa to arrive in Kenya and then cross over to Tanzania without having to get another one? (if I understood this correctly). Or do I have to get a visa for Kenya and also one for Tanzania?

my understanding is that once you are in any one of the three East African Countries crossing from one into the other is easier since you pay up at the border as you cross.

As I understand it, you would need to get a Visa for both Kenya and Tanzania. However, you would only need to get single entry visas for each country, and would be able to pass back and forth across the border without having to get another visa.
