I'm reading conflicting statements on the construction tax payable on departing Beijing internationally. I understand it's 90 yuan payable at the airport but I've also read that it's included as part of the airfare since September 1, 2004. I know it's only $10US but for me this will mean cashing another traveller's cheque. Can someone please confirm for me?
The last time I flew internationally out of China (earlier this year), the airport construction fee was included in the plane fare.Have you checked with where/who ever you bought your plane ticket from?
Thanks Wocca. Ran out of time to check with the agent but the ticket stated a tax for NZ$15 for China so I took the gamble. Turns out it was included. Good thing to as I only had 15Y left when I got to the airport.
It is ture that all the domestic and international airport construction fee are covered in the ticket fare if you book the air ticket in China. But I am not sure that it will be covered or not if you book the air ticket outside China. Anyway, it will be stated on the ticket whether the tax is covered or not.
Last month i bought a ticket in China from Shanghai to Bangkok. The ticket included airport construction tax.Earleir there used to be counter selling the tax tickets but last month there was no such counter. On enquiry i was told thatthe ticket included the tax.
