Hi everyone

I know it's a boring subject but can anyone recommend any insurance for a year long round the world trip? I need one that covers adventure sports (and needs to be inclusive of the US and Canada).

STA offers one but it comes to almost £400 - surely there must be a cheaper alternative?

Which companies have you all used? I've tried quotes on the net but not many seem to cover the adventure sports etc.

Cheers ;)

Hey welshman,

It's worth doing a forum search on this topic. There's been a few threads on it recently.

We compare two of the cheapest insurances we've found on Travellerspoint under the Travel Tools tab. You can find it here.

World Nomads has decent coverage for adventure sports.

Cheers Pete,

Just had a look, the World Nomads one looks pretty good and works out £150 cheaper than STA - Nice one! It's well worth shopping around eh? :)

That £150 can pay for the 'Awesome Foursome'!

Yeah, I do like them. I've used them three or four times. Haven't had any reason for a claim, but it's a very easy procedure and the prices are good.
