Here's some questions to ask...

1)If you are particular on cost,

Most to Least: Bangkok - Hong Kong - Singapore.

2) If you want convenience in getting around the country, and just staying on just for a few days,

Most to Least: Singapore - Hong Kong - Bangkok.

Singapore Changi Airport, has almost everything there... Train ride to Downtown is abt half and hour. Transportation is the easiest.

In Bangkok, there's so many things to see and doo.... When you stay for only few days, it won't be enough..

"Singapore on the way out and Hong Kong on the way back"

I agree with you on Singapore... But Hong Kong is pretty much similiar to Singapore.. I prefer Bangkok.. :) More things to watch out for!

So.. i hope this helps... Tell me what you think of too yaa.. ;)

singapore is not as attractive as HK.

bkk is good for chilling out - massages, trips into countryside, to the beach. You need more time here

Ok so do reckon

Hong Kong and Bangkok, rather than Hong Kong and Singapore?

The plan is to spend only 4 / 5 days at each

The only thing worth seeing in Singapore is the night zoo. Honk Kong is very expensive. Bangkok has a serious pollution problem. All that being said I would spend the time in Bangkok first (Grand Palace, Wat Po, Wat Arun, day trip to Ayuttha (not spelt right) or Lop Buri to do some monkey chasing), next choice would be Hong Kong (Giant Buddha is a must) and finally I would go back to Singapore kicking and screaming the whole way (ok, maybe that's a little harsh).

I would pick BKK and HK. Singapore is too small and too western like.

Bangkok's bigger, but I still consider it to be very western as well

Though I am Singaporean, I would advise you visit Bangkok rather than Singapore on your way in, and then Hong Kong on your way out.

Having said that, I think you have heard from the rest the attractions found in these places. I want to add the following to add to a reason to visit Singapore, and not knowing your lifestyle [ 8) ]:

a) chilling out on the beach at Sentosa
b) check out the coral reefs and mud flats at Chek Jawa on Tekong island - low tide only!!
c) diving at the Southern islands

Now if you were a foodie, Singapore is great too! There are lots of great local food in the hawker centres - something which Bangkok and Hong Kong does not have. Hawker centres are places where you just go to for local food - the food would be cheap, hygenic and you find all the offerings from the various ethnic groups.

If you are coming to Singapore, then check with me further closer the time...

I'd definitely choose Bangkok, lots to see and do in and around Bangkok (like Ayuttha, etc.).

Singapore and Hong Kong are kind of similar. Modern, lots of shopping, etc.. Singapore is cleaner (and has a great Zoo).
