Hi Steve,

Apologies for removing what was certainly a valid suggestion. The concern is that we would not want to be endorsing such practices in these forums as that is precisely the reason that we have a lot of 'new members' sign up and start engaging in such behaviours. This type of behaviour is also against the forum rules and the site terms, and really just makes more work for our moderators.

Thank you, however, for reaching out to help a member in need. We certainly appreciate your fantastic efforts in consistently helping others.

Cheers,
Kellie

It's a shame our rules are so tight that a book recommendation has to be culled.

I'm all for stamping out the spammers but hearing about someone's expedition is of great interest to me; I feel this forum would be better if more flexibility was possible - suggesting resources like books has got to be ok, in response to a query, hasn't it?

If you want to know a little more about our last trip...you can read this article ( its not a advert)

Apologies Andy, for the book removal coming across a bit strong. To clarify, the book was a guide to the exact practices which spammers engage in on these very forums and our moderators spend many hours removing. As mentioned in my post above, it was certainly a valid suggestion for the OP's needs and Steve could certainly provide this help via PM.

We would not want to discourage the helpful and supportive nature of the community but equally do not want to endorse something that can be just as harmful.

Cheers,
Kellie

Hi Garry,

I think the deciding question really is: will someone running this trip be earning an income out of it? From what I can tell of your website - it really does look like this is a commercial venture.

If so, then I fail to see the difference between you posting on here and all the other tour spammers that we get (and we get a LOT). Maybe if there were just a handful of tour companies looking for people to "join their expeditions" we wouldn't worry, but the reality is that you are not the only one trying to find people to go on a tour with you.
