Who has done the train trip from Moscow to beijing?
I would like to know the best places to get of the train, and the time you need spending there.
I don't wanna miss anything, but i don't wanna get out of the train when there is nothing there either.
Please tell me all about your trip, I am planning to do it next summer,Thanx!
Hi Doeba de Vos
Unfortunately I haven't done the Trans Siberian (yet!).... I have been more or less 'planning' to do it for years though and have spent quite some time on the internet looking for info. It seems that most of the information at this moment in time comes from personal travelogues, half of which seem to be dutchies (ik ben ook half nederlands ).
The links on our Russia links page (http://www.travellerspoint.com/linkcat.cfm?category=42) have quite some info and some of the owners of those sites are also travel helpers for the area. Jack, who owns the Baikaler site, knows everything there is to know about Siberia for example.....
Let me know how you go on your planning and for how long you are thinking of going. I might need to get out and just do it one of these days and my fiancee doesn't want to join me so hey....
Thanks for your reaction,
The plan now is to go about 4 weeks in July/August this year and start in St.Petersburg, then Moscow, Irkutsk, Ulaan Baatar, Beijing, and then fly back to Holland.
I already have a travelpartner, he's from San Diego, os it's quite hard to arrange everuthing for the two off us. I got the catalogus from Tiara, a dutch travelcompany, and they also give a lot of information.
I will check your link too.
Good thing though, you started this side with your brother.
