I beg to disagree. As Andy mentioned, the recommendations were 'rewritten' copy/pastes from other websites, and of course you once again included a link to the indiegogo campaign which you're spamming, and has been deleted half a dozen of times already.
Well...that post is deleted now! Anyways my trip is all set...we were confused between kaikoura and christchurch...and then went ahead with kaikoura instead!what is is the weather like right now??
For weather anywhere in New Zealand, try the Met Service
12 days should suffice to see a few key places. You can fit in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, probably 2-3-4 more towns.
I think there are a few rail lines which are worth trying out, then you could still travel by bus. The scenery is wonderful, so I'd skip the airplanes.
12 days should be enough, according to me you should go Auckland to Queenstown via the East Coast
Yes we will be visiting Queenstown,Kaikoura and Auckland...12 days should be good for these 3 places! unfortunately travelling by car will get too tiring because we have a 15 hr journey from New Delhi to Auckland and then to Queenstown!! Travelling by rail through nz wil have to be for another time
As a Kiwi myself, i have seen most of New Zealand. I don't think you have enough time to cover both islands in 12 days!
Assuming you are flying into Auckland I suggest you just fly to Christchurch rent a car and drive towards Lake Tekapo -> Mt Cook -> Wanaka ->Arrow Town -> Queenstown ->Milford Sound -> Caitlins ->Dunedin->Christchurch.
Remember there is a lot of driving around
This is what I did a few years ago

Well i am in Queenstown right now...spending 6 days out of the 12 days here...we dont know where to go from here....for the time being we have chosen Wellington as my husband prefers more of a citylife for holidayy....what are the attractions there?? also is there any other place which might be better....only 3 days...as we will be spending the last 3 days of our trip in Auckland!!!
Bdw Allen...your Country is beautiful!!!! Its been the best vacation i have ever had so far!!!!
Wellington is nice, but not really hugely touristy. Its very artistic, and of course there is the Weta cave which is the company that helped make the Lord Of The Rings, and Te Papa the national museum.
Rotorua is a tourist mecca and has a lot to offer. Huge cultural influence and amazing landscape - I would suggest going there (you can always do the adrenaline type activities here too), its all there! The buried village, the blue and green lakes, whakarewarewa thermal area and the geyser, the luge, rainbow springs etc. It is also close to Taupo which is pretty at this time of year, or Tauranga/ Mt Maunganui that you could go through if you were driving north back to Auckland. You could do so much in three days in this area!
Once in Auckland, if you have a day, head to Waiheke Island or Rangitoto Island for a walk (or wine), just a nice introduction to the Hauraki Gulf and what the east coast has to offer, possibly for you to remember for your next trip!...because you'll want to come back ;-)
So much more to suggest but since you're already on your holiday, I will limit it.
Enjoy your travels!
