Travel Forums Asia Currency help!

Hi everyone,

I am heading to SE Asia in January next year and plan to spend 3-4 months travelling around (solo too- so if you're doing a similar thing please say hello!).

I am wanting to start a discussion about money overseas and how most people go about it? I'm Australian so any Aussies out there who have done this and could share some tips that'd be awesome.

This is my first time to SE Asia (besides a quick stop in Thailand two years ago- for which I just had an ANZ travel card that I loaded with Australian dollars and used like a VISA card over there) but I am a little unsure what I should do for this trip as i'm going to be visiting more than one country.... any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!

I just used a 0% foreign transaction credit card.

ATMs still charge a nominal fee but for their convenience it is worth it.

Ditto Will. ATMs are the way to go.
