I only wish the people here with no sense of humour would stop deleting you.

Those posts are a boring and repetitious disruption to the forum. That's why they're being deleted.
It's a shame, since there's a valid point underlying the copy/pasted rant, but yeah, that particular troll just doesn't seem to care to actually usefully bring that point to the table in a non-disruptive manner, or even to engage in actual conversation in any way. (Really, I'd love to have an actual discussion about this topic in a separate thread - but not where it's impacting a completely unrelated thread where people just want travel help.)

Sorry for the disturbance, everyone, and for not having been quite fast enough to delete it before you could be bothered by it. Please carry on. :)

Im heading to Melbourne for new years eve one of few places i could find accommodation so i just booked it. Any tips on places to go and stuff while im there?

I presume you won't be around very long so sadly you will miss out on the Night Market (which is brilliant IMO) but the normal Vic Market is a landmark site and will be open on some days over this period. Just check the website to confirm.

Also depending on how long you're around, Rooftop Cinema is fantastic. You can still enjoy the rooftop views from the middle of the city though as the place is usually a bar . Please note it gets BUSY!

If you like quirky, check out Section 8 (the shipping container bar) and pretty much anywhere on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy, also Bimbo Deluxe's $4 pizzas. If you're south of the river they have the same deal at Lucky Coq in Windsor and Chapel Street is just as eye-opening.

Definitely visit Hosier and Rutledge Lane opposite ACMI for some of Melbourne's awesome street art. There's a few other places around the city, most of which you will just need to stumble across, but this is like a dedicated area with constantly changing pieces. Melbourne reveals itself best to the traveller that chooses to explore the city's laneways ;)

As for the big night, NYE from Treasury Gardens is pretty good but there are also three other live sites around the city.

Sorry for the info dump, wasn't sure what you were into
