Quoting john7buck

If you travel by bus on the East Coast (if you decide to pass on Oz Experience), I'd say that 90 percent of the passengers are travelers just like yourself. I believe the company is called McCafferty's.

It's actually recently been bought by greyhound so it's all greyhound now in terms of point to point buses. I'd recommend their website for the different passes they have available. I used greyhound when I travelled around and found it very decent for what I was after...

Thanks Everyone!
Feeling excited again now!!
I think i'll look into the bus thing when i get there, that way i'll get a feel of how things are and what other people are doing!
Ive heard the Oz Experience is a bit of a party bus and i like the idea of that!

Like others responding, I'm doing the traveling on my own for the first time. While I've traveled all over europe and asia, this will be my first time in Australia. I have a one way ticket to Sydney in the beginning of May and will be going up the east coast, doing kite-boarding, diving, and drinking along the way.

Definitely nervous since this also involves quitting my job, but the heck with it!
