Hi all,

I'm thinking of travelling over spain this summer

Granada, Seville, Toledo and San sebastien all look good to me so far

Where else would people recommend?

And is it easy to travel over Spain by train?

Thank you

Well -the Man in seat 61 rates it very highly.

It's been too many years since I did any train travel there but even years ago I enjoyed it.

I spent a few months in Mijas, in the hills behind Fuengerola. Very pleasant years ago, not sure now but it is not too far off your route.

And - never having seen it, a must see for me would be Cordoba for the Moorish buildings. It's on your route too..
You do not mention Madrid. Is there a reason for that? The Prado there at least is worth a visit.

I think Barcelona is a must go place.
Antoni Gaudí architetures are something you must see.
In addition, be ware the thieves at the railroad station,
if someone tells you got some ketchupon your jacket and they help you to clean.
you have to refuse them. because once you take off your bag and jacket.
They'll steal your jacket and bag. Good Luck

Don't expect mountains in Mijas, more of a high hill. There are quite a few pretty, white, hill villages in Southern Spain, mostly near Cadiz I think.

So far I'm flying into Malaga, then getting trains to Seville, then Cordoba, then to Granada. I was then wanting to go to Valencia then onto Toldeo and Madrid (or the other way round). But was wondering if there are any places of interest to break the journey up.

Thanks

There are plenty beautiful places to see in the area you described. All depending what you want to experience.

Nerja is a must for many tourists, and i end up visiting the village every year.
Frigiliana near Nerja is also beautiful.
Ronda gives amazing views over andalucia.
Fuengirola/ Mijas would not be on my top 10, basically everything between Malaga and Marbella is very touristy, which is ok if thats what you want
Trip from Malaga to Seville is beautiful!

WHEN are you going? There is huge streetfestival, Feria in seville in april, one in malaga in august.

See some proper flamenco in seville, los gallos is a good house for that.

Let me know if you have more questions, i have travelled andalucia every year since 2004 and going again for the feria de malaga in august. :)
