Let's have a nice, inspiring thread.... Images of hope and happiness. Real life, movies, magazines. Those images that make you happy, or those scenes that make you think there is hope in the world.
One that comes to mine for me is just a black and white ad for perfume. it's a girl and a guy hugging but the girl just seem happy, it always makes me happy aswell.
Any other suggestions...
A smiling face when you least expect it always adds colour to the day
a beautiful sunrise to signify the fresh hopes of a new day.
and i love unexpected smiles,
my favourite image is actually one of a friends daughters in her walking frame, she was diagnosed with spina bifida 3 days before she was born, her mom was told she wouldn't walk after loads of tests when she was a few weeks old, that little girl is now 2.5 years old and though she can't walk unaided YETshe can now stand by herself, she is so proud as is all who know her and is proving the doctors wrong, she shows us there is hope....
I think the last image of hope/happiness that I can vividly remember is a photograph of Indonesian fisherman launching their new boats on the water for the first time following the Decemeber tsunami. It has sort of stuck in my head.
There's something about making a baby laugh that's pretty special. One of my friends has a 6 month old who will look at you with her big, grey eyes - and laugh like mad when you smile at her. I find myself making the most insane faces just to get her to smile back. But it's worth it!
The sight of a young man in my gym who has mild cerebral palsy.
Saw a documentary last nite about the hard lives of children in Aceh, Indonesia, where there is fighting for independence. An Indonesian gentleman who has taken in hundreds of orphans tries to teach them to accept the past through religious instruction and affection, so they do not have revenge in their hearts. He tries to get them to make positive contributions instead, like educating others etc. We need more people like this guy.
And a sobbing little girl who cant go to school & is always hungry had this to say when asked what she wanted: I want to be a useful person.
These are photos/images that always inspire me: http://www.milkphotos.com/
I first saw this exhibition outside the Sydney Opera House and so many of these photos really hit a nerve. They inspired, made me laugh, made me cry, made me think.
I have a M.I.L.K. photo magnet on my fridge which reads:
"Happiness is not in things, it is in us."
I like that - it's a good motto to live by.
This isn't a conventional happy image....
Everytime I see the Olympic Stadium in Montreal it brings back good memories and special times. It always makes me smile, no matter how bad of a day I'm having
The one thing I love about traveling and landing on remote places is seeing happy and smiling faces of people that dont have much but nonetheless live a very happy life. The sight of that fills my heart and it always bring a tear to my eyes.
Also seeing animals...I may be having the worst day of my life but you just have to put a dog, cat, horse, or fawn (Rayme ), etc in front of my face and it changes everything. I love animals more than anything...
