mattb has indicated that this thread is about United Kingdom

Hi all,
Ive been using the site for a few weeks now and thought it was about time I introduced myself. Im Matt 32 from Southampton in the UK. Im new to travelling and am off to Oz in a few weeks time for my first trip. A while ago I thought to myself 'Sh--t Im 32 where is my life heading...better do something before its too late!!' With inspiration from friends who have travelled and also from this web site I decided to give up the boring career, rent out the flat and take off. Of course I still dont have a clue what to do with my life, but I am gonna have a good time and have some new experiences. I am soo excited now, its like being a kid again. Thankyou travellerspoint for the help and inspiration you have provided. One of the reasons to travel is new experience of new culture and Im sure I will broaden my horizon as I have never been out of Europe before. However If there was one good thing about the boring old career Ive just given up it was that I got to travel all over the UK. Ive seen just about all of England, most of Wales and a good bit of Scotland. I wouldnt say Im an expert but if I can be of any help to anyone visiting the UK, please dont hesitate to leave a message. I hope to add to the site again as I travel so maybe speak to you all later.
or as my 8 year old niece calls me 'my uncle travelling Matt!'
Anyone else old enough to remember the Fraggles!!!!!

Hi Matt,

Welcome to the site! I must say I'm very pleased I to hear that we have had a small part in inspiring your journey :) You picked a great destination to start with too btw.. Australia is very UK'er friendly and offers such a diverse range of travelling pleasure that it is very hard to be dissapointed! I'll be travelling to the UK at some point this year - probably around May, so maybe I'll take you up on your offer for advice as well.

Hope to catch you around more in the meanwhile - keep us updated on your trip.

Hola Mattb and welcome!

Like Pete, I would just like to say thanks for the kind words on Travellerspoint. Aus is a FANTASTIC place to travel and I am sure you won't regret it one single day. Let me know if you have any questions on the country. Spent a few years there and hope to go back in two for a couple more....
