Hi LuceR396,

Australia is such an exciting place to go to!

Like Deanxc220 I'd recommend Byron Bay - it's a great place to visit and you can surf, if you're in to that. I went over on a gap year programme and got to check out a number of places. New South Wales is great and I'd definitely recommend going out in Queensland when you're there - the nightlife is awesome. I'm guessing you're already planning to see the Great Barrier Reef? There's loads of beaches too, like Hervey Bay (who knows, maybe you'll see a humpback whale?! ) and Airlie beach.

Hey Ed

Thanks for you info. Will defo be going to Byron Bay I cant surf yet but am hoping to learn or at least give it a go haha!! So much to do whilst out there cant wait now only 4 and half weeks left to wait!
Are you in Oz already or have you travelled before?

Hi Everyone!

I am a 24 year old female traveller, flying out to Cairns this Monday the 5th of October!

I am then going to travel down the East coast, ending up in Sydney around Christmas and then over to Melbourne for new year. I am going on my own, and as it's my first time travelling (eek) I am keen to meet as many people a long the way as possible!

Let me know if you want to chat / meet up if your plans are similar.

Happy to be added on Facebook, just drop me a line :) x

Hey guys,
My names Dan, I'm 23 and from the UK, but currently living in Darwin, Australia, I've been in the country since July, now looking for work in Darwin and living with a friend.
But my friends girlfriend is coming to join at the end of October and ideally I'd not like to be the third wheel from hell, we were planning to leave Darwin for Cairns sometime around the end of October, (depending on if I stop being a bum and earn some money) and then doing coral reef and down the east coast, ending up in Melbourne at some point.
So just wondering if anyone's got a similar plan, and also what's best to see/do along the east coast, and also how's best to go about doing it (e.g. flying from place to place or driving).
Any replies would be brill, and I can be found on Facebook too just ask me for the link.

Thanks guys
Dan

For the east coast, the main ones would have to be Byron Bay, Noosa, Airlie Beach well as going further up to the rainforests!.Those spots are both great craic but also just really relaxing with great views.
