The ferry, I think there may be 2 of them.
One is the San Blas Ferry
http://darienferry.com/en/about-colombia-panama-ferry.html
It is a Smaller boat

then I found the Ferry Express that I think is a larger boat.

You know at least one should be running
Good Luck

I just had a long conversation with the trek director who has also been to the tip of south america, and he said that never has been a issue, and wondered where you go your information from? By the way Trekoftheamericas has done this trek for the past 24 years. Did you check the website of adventuretrek com ?

Hi,
We were checking all embassy sites for visa requirements etc. and on most there was some comment to do with the return or forward ticket, (so you don't stay?). A comment under frequently asked questions "Costa Rica"

_________________Quoted from Costa Rica Embassy website
3. Can I enter Costa Rica with a one way ticket?
All visitors must have an entry and exit ticket, whether it is by air or by land, as the case may be, as a requirement to enter the country.
____________
Ya so based on above we were a bit worried.
But if it has never come up...Then I will not worry until it is a problem.

Thanks for the help you guys are awesome!

What they mean if you enter by land (IN A BUS), not a private vehicle or rv.!!!

hmmmm.....yes, and therein lies the question..
But it seems to be the same with all the embassy sites I have been to.
I was on a blog where the person was in Asia on a one way, and was not allowed to board a plane to his next destination without purchasing a plane ticket out of that country. There is also a bus ticket web site that sells bus tickets to "any country" for an onward ticket.
But how the hell do you do that if you are in your own vehicle??

Confusion rains!!!

Well I shall keep looking and hope to find an answer before we leave.

Destorm, you're worrying about nothing. Since you're driving a private vehicle the onward ticket regulation does not apply. Read Reply #15 again too.

Tranquilo.

Cheers,

For us...NO NO NO ticket requested. There is nothing on the website, you need to fill in a inquiry for a personal answer or write directly to them at trekamerica at trekamericas dot net you WILL get a personal reply.
