Hello All,

Recently applied for a travel visa to Australia. As I have a criminal record for fraud against my employer (15 yrs ago) I have been asked for further information.
My sentence for 42 months, however, because it was my first offence, I served 7 months in prison. I have had no further criminal convictions
and am hoping that once I have provided the further documents, that I will be allowed to enter the country for a visit.

I have read the blog and there was some reference to as long as the crime did not involve weapons, drugs, violence etc.. that your chances are good.
Anyone out there have a similar conviction and been allowed into Australia? I am anxiously waiting for a reply from Australia Immigration.

Thank you

Hi - I can't help you with your question but someone else might be able to if you can say in which country you committed the offence and on which country's passport you intend to travel. I'm pretty sure this information will be important. Cheers

Thank you.. first time on a blog such as this.
The offence was committed in Canada and my passport is Canadian as well. I applied for the visitors visa, admitting to a criminal record and have been asked for further information, such as copy of court conviction and criminal record search, along with several other questions. My husband is in Australia at this time on a work/visitors visa for a period of 3 months and I would love to be able to join him. Feeling very sad ...:(:(:(
