I'm writing regards about the working holidays visa, it seems to read in this forum that its easy for people to get this visa. I applied two weeks ago wanting to go in the month of july and i just got the answer its been refused. I submitted all the relevant documents according to the checklist and the documents they asked me to provide lke the letter of invitation and rental agreement from my friend coz i will be staying with her upon arrival to uk. They still refused.I also have enough finance for the two years stay.I'm really sad coz this means alot for me and since i will be 31 few months later i wanted this opportunity to travel to uk and other europe countries.
Do any of you'll have any advice for me ..i'm thinking of reapplying for the visa.
Your file is probably stamped "REJECTED" or something similar. Let the dust settle first before reapplying. Good idea to gather as much information as possible. Find out the specific grounds for having your application declined.
It might be because you are 31, check the age limits.
The reason its being refused is becoz i'm 30 years of age and currently unemployed and did not show evidence of my savings. I was told by this visa application that my dad can sponsor first till the process is over and i just need to show at the time of my arrival to uk that i have enough funds to support myself for two years which i will have. I will be only 31 years old in november. People can apply for this visa few days before turning 31 iwas told by the officers. I cant appeal as it will take 6 months to 1 year.
It will be unfair just becoz of the age and i choose not to work after my last job in Dec which i showed evidence that i was working before... When will it be a good time to reapply again...
It might have been a good idea to show proof of your savings, there is an election going on at the moment and the dont want people coming here and claiming of the state for money, more then likely they want young workers, in there 20's. Apart from that there is little more you can do.
I am so sorry to hear about your situation. If I were you I would appeal as soon as possible. And yes I guess the UK general election is affecting it as well in some ways, although they were concerned about the situation last year. At least you are not Malaysian, or from one of the countries where the WHM visa has been suspended. So you have the opportunity to appeal. If you can, do it ASAP before you turn 31?
