2 mates of mine are doing up a landrover and saving money for next year then driving across the world.

I'm trying to persuade them to let me join, but theres the space issue, the fact i'll have no money due to being at uni till then and they won't.

Any ideas, tips for the journey please?
Oh and some advice as to how to persuade them wouldn't go amiss either. See they're very *cough* 'chilled out', got dreadlocks wears baggy clothes etc. I'm kind of smart....ish dressing, alot more talkative and could probably annoy them. But i'm travelled and only one of them has travelled before. Suppose knowledge would be my key argument, but then they just want to bum it and see.

But you gotta have someone to sort out visa's, speak to natives, worry about culture issues, money etc. They'll be too busy getting stoned and letting it all happen.

  • See they haven't travelled much, wish it did work that way though but you all know it dosen't

Exactly, you've got to put it in such a way that they will suddenly think they need you. Talk yourself up - make them see that you are an invaluable asset. Maybe if you offer to take care of all the logistics of the trip, i.e. booking accomodation, navigation, joint-rolling.....;)

I don't think I could travel with that sort

but if you want to thats great, do they know you want to go or have you only hinted at it? Maybe come right out and say it?

Exactly, we gotta get border patrol sorted, book boat tickets for the ATV, visa's. All boring stuff that'll slow them down.

I can out drink them......Maybe that'll help my chances.
