Utrecht - I completely agree. The high tatras of slovakia, caves and rock formations in Czech, gorges in Greece - steepest and longest gorges in the world are BOTH there - and of course the highlands, iceland, etc. So many different places that people just don't talk about.
I have not found any destination over rated but then I research my trips and chose destinations according to my interests, knowing what to expect and why I go there, never going simply by other people's suggestions or by name-throwing.
I am a minority maybe, but I love destinations such as Athens or Warsaw or Dublin and actually find them under-rated...
Stonehenge. By a million miles. Such a waste of time and money!
I've not been to Vienna but my wife has and said it was beautiful. But we tend to love architecture, history and museums...
Athens is one of my favourite, both for history and because it is such a livig city;.
Never been to Dublin but on my todo list.
So... overrated ? Bucharest for sure, then all of Netherlands - but only because I'm a Belgian !
But still .... what to expect from a country where restaurants close at 6 30 in small towns !!!!
6 h 30 'sorry, keuken is gesloten' !!!!!!!! no way. :
