Hi,

I'm having a total nightmare trying to book accommodation for the Olympics during August for 2 people! I've tried loads of sites and so far nothing has been of any help. Can someone point me in the right direction about booking anything from camping to hotels, preferably under 80 euros per night per person and relatively easy to get to the Olympic stadium!

Thank you!

My understanding is that basically any hotels in Athens are already booked out. There is a homestay program that you may be interested in though. Try http://www.filoxenia2004.com/ for some more information on the matter. The other option is to search for places a ways out of Athens instead and make trips into the city. You would have to get out a map though and research because I'm not very familiar with the area.

Are you looking for miracles?I think 160 euros is a very cheap rate for any room.
Olympic packages are very expensive.I would like to help you but I cannot.
Let me know the exact dates of Aug and I shall try.

sometimes miracles can come true....:-)

In the same predicament, but my research has bought me to this.

go to Student & Travellers Inn, Plaka. Double rooms with private facilities are 100 euros per night.

Good luck,

I have access to a 1-bedroom apartment in Athens during the summer (near a metro station) which will accommodate 2/3 persons. It will be available for most of the Olympics (I have it from Aug 22 - Aug 26, but may be willing to share with 1 other).

Will be able to provide more details in the next week or two (rental cost, location, minimum let etc.), but meanwhile just trying to guage the level of interest. If you're interested, please send a message indicating required dates and approx. rental you would be willing to pay.

Thank you

I'm also going to try and find accomodations there. I'm moving to Europe soon and figure if I'm there I'll go while I can. I'm bringing a tent.

It will be a nightmare if you stay far away from the Olympic venue. The trasport cost is going to be beyond many people's reach. Why don't you get together with some friends and buy your accommodation through a reputable company. I bought mine through a comapny in London: http://www.home-links.co.uk/athenspackages/index.htm Apart from your accommodation this is what you get:

• What's included in the price?
• Arrival and departure transfer to/from Athens El. Venizelou Airport.
• Welcome drink and information pack on arrival.
• Accommodation presented in a clean and welcoming condition.
• Cleaning service and linen change every 3 days of your stay.
• Maintenance and insurance costs.
• Civil liability insurance cover for accidental injury and personal property damage.
• 24 hour call centre for information, maintenance and emergency services.

I wish u luck!
