Morning all!!

It seems ages since I was last on here! I have just checked, nearly a year to the day I made my first post, time has flown by!!

Well my original plan was to be in Oz for Feb 2015, do the required work to get a 2nd WHV and have 2 years out there......unfortunately life got in the way, its Feb 2015 and I am not in Oz!! I have had to rethink my options, and so will only be able to spend a year out there.

I have a visa, and now looking at flights etc.

I would love to hear from anyone else who is thinking about travelling around that time?

xx

Hey!
Where are you looking at going within Australia? I'm in Sri Lanka right now but heading to Aus in 2 weeks time to do a WHV. Will be landing in Perth and heading East and up that coast - no real plans yet though.

Hey all, sorry for the late reply!

Adz, where do I start?!! Any tips on where to start? Anything you would do different?

Marcopolo, I will be starting in Sydney, my brother lives out there so I am hoping he can find me a houseshare somewhere. Are ye in Oz yet?

Hi Leanne, how are you finding it? What do you think of Melbourne? How have you found finding work?

Thanks to all!

x

Hey I'm loving melbourne it's a great city and there's always something on.. Found work difficult but that's because I'm a nurse and had to get lots of paperwork sorted etc. from what I can see there's plenty of work it just depends what field your in..

I started in Sydney, my advice is if your looking to work in Sydney and get a place, arrive late winter (July-September time) this way its easier to find a job and place as most backpackers will of gone by then and will start arriving September-November time so they are there for the summer.

In terms of would I do anything different? Yea, I would of been more careful with my money and not spent it on things I could of got a lot cheaper somewhere else. Clothes, food and rent etc. But other than that, I wouldn't of changed the experience at all. Was incredible. So much so I'm planning on moving there for start of next year on a sponsorship.

Hi!!! I am also thinking of going in September to Sydney perhaps the beginning of the month. Still trying to save and all that, I have being looking for flights and everything just don't know whether to do it on my own or go with the company gap360 .

way cheaper to do it on your own, those companies are great to take the stress out of things, but it costs loads more!

@drinkeroftea

not sure where i'll be living. but will aim near the CBD, Bondi, Coogee, Randwick, Surrey Hills areas. They are places I know and easy to get to work from. Plus they are just generally nice places to live.
