If your stuck for insurance

I Know you can get cheaper especially if your ok

But i have asthma and travel insurance is a ball ache

So if you have something wrong like me

Try direct line, they quoted me 300 for the year including sports surfing etc

and including going in ambulances and cancellations and everything really

I havent brought it yet but i dont think i shall be cutting corners with insurance as i normally have 1 asthma attack a year

Hope this helps anyone

Hi Everyone!

I'm looking to fly solo to Sydney Mid Oct, only decided to do it yesterday so no proper plans yet. I'm scared and excited! No idea where to start with budget planning etcetc.

I'm going to travel Turkey in September so I'll be flying in from Istanbul

If you are looking for beaches got to Sydney.

If you are looking for the best place to live, go to Melbourne.

Best of luck, you will have an awesome time!

Has anyone sorted their visas or anything yet?

I had a mini meltdown today when I was writing down the cost of everything, I have no idea how much I should be looking to save?!

The more, the better. You need at least AUD $5000 (~€3,600, £2,600, USD $3,900) in the country to be eligible for the WHV, but that money runs out in about two months for most people, so double that would be a much better amount to bring along, and anything beyond that a great bonus which means you can see more and have to work less. And then count on another €1000-1500 or so for airfare, insurance and the WHV itself.

The WHV itself is super easy to get, and tends to be approved within hours if you go through the official department of immigration website, a week at most during peak times.

Oh, all that is of course assuming you're going on a Working Holiday Visa for a year. If you're just going for 1-3 months and don't plan to work, you just need an eVisitor, which is free.

Lauren - im also doing ultimate Oz start date on the 07th September! Where are you flying from?

I've read a few bad reviews in terms of helping you find work etc but I suppose it's good to help you get to know people. I will be looking to travel up the east coast after the weeks intro hopefully with new people I meet!

Anyone recommend any good insurances?
