I intend to go travelling mainly around Central America as a lone, female traveller late February beginning of March for a couple of months. I have never travelled alone as I have always been part of a larger group only this time I intend to see the real America rather than the touristy parts so I am after some advice from anyone who has been 'off the beaten track'. The majority of organised trips seem to cater for younger age groups and only last a fortnight or so and since I have just hit 40 and am feeling a little bit nervous! So in a nutshell I wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations on how to travel or where to perhaps find likemined people who are interested in an extended holiday. I am totally flexible on itinery so if anyone has any suggestions please email me.
Thanks for reading and may you all have happy travels!!
Hi there - I can't recommend this tour operator because I have not yet been on any of their tours but there is a website which is www.trekamerica.com and there are types of tours which are called 'Footloose' tours and these cater for all ages. I have looked at some tours previously on this site and they seem to cover parts of real america and also tourist spots. Take a look anyway and hope it is of some help!
