Hi

My name is Sam and i live in South Africa. I would like to ask about life in Canada particulary Employment opportunities. Are there lots of Software development jobs in Canada? I am a C# Developer and i do not have lots of experience, but will gain lot of it in two years time. Which City would be i deal for me in terms of rentals and food costs? I am still weighing options to either relocate to Australlia or Canada. I chose Canada over Australlia bacuase it is easy to to get an Canadian work permit than an Australlian work permit.

Regards

Sam

Sorry Sam, but your notions are not accurate.

Canada's economy is weak right now and their dollar is in the toilet. Oil prices being so low has been really difficult in certain sectors. You're dreaming of you think Work Permits are easy to obtain, especially since you have no experience.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

I'm sure it's not easy to get a work permit in either country.

Can't speak for Canada, but programming jobs are on the skilled migrant list of jobs for Australia. They are however heavily subscribed and have reached their quota for this year already. A new financial year is only a few weeks away though.

As for choosing a city - I'm sure it's the same in Canada as it is here. Cheaper rents and cost of living generally speaking will also mean less job opportunities. I wouldn't let the cost of living move me one way or another in this kind of choice.

You could look into NZ as another option as well?
