I smoke American Spirit unfiltered cigaretts. I am unable to buy them in Italy. I wonder if anyone knows if they are available in Athens, Patras, or Croatia [ I will be staying in Hvar and traveling around on day trips].

You should really consider giving up smoking; you are killing yourself.

Come on James...everyone that smokes knows it not good for them....no need to lecture.....but regardless...your best bet would be to be flexible. Sometimes...the same brands will not always be available..

Hey George!
In many countries, you can get the American brands, but they are NOT made in the US. (so they really aren't the same anyway) I am sure they will have something comparable. Good Luck!
p.s. I have heard cigarettes outside the US are usually much stronger;)

Hey George!

Can't help you with the cigarette situation, but be sure NOT to take those lighters with you in checked or carry on luggage. You will, however, be able to carrt 4 books of "safety" matches with you. Good luck with the cigarettes.

I'm at a loss as to why one brand differs from another. Smoke going down your lungs is, well, smoke going down your lungs isn't it?

Or is it a brand thing, in that "I'm more young and attractive with this type of smoke going down my lungs than another type of smoke"!

Nah, I don't dislike smokers, I just wish they would either refrain from smoking on beaches, or not leave a dozen or so butts stubbed out in the sand after their visit. Is that too much to ask?

Just like wines taste different, just like coffees taste different, just like chocolate tastes different.....

Much like saying that "Red Wine is the same as White wine, its all alcoholic wine isnt it!" Quality of tobacco and such make the world of difference and they do taste different. I've smoked and I'm definately happier without it though, whether I can maintain my resolve when I start travelling is another question. I don't really miss it, but I think the best advice for smoking is never start.

Whilst I've no doubt brand influence does exist, an addicted smoker will smoke what tastes best to them.
