Hi all, I'll be buying a PDA for all my details and stuff this week and wondering if WiFi (wireless) will be useful to me.
I'll be travelling through thailand, India, Eastern Europe then cdentral and south America.

Is it worth the extra cost?

Any opinions would be greatly received...

I would be lost without it. (Yes, I am very dependant on 'toys')I love having a PDA, it replaced my old address/telephone book which was a mess from all the writing, erasing, adding..etc. I never forget appointments with the alarm. I know when everyones birthday/anniversary/specail day is. And they are sooo small, hardly takes up anyroom...Are they expensive there? They have become extremely cheap here...

Hi Cupcake, They are coming down in price here. What brand do you have?...Are you at home or travelling at the moment?

yes I'll need one for birthdays, planes flights etc too. I've used one at work for a while now.

But Have you used the wifi on yours (if it has it?)

How many free hot spots have you come across in countries?
Do many hostels have wifi?

I will be taking a few photos so I'll download from camera to PDa then from PDA to a 20gb hard drive mp3 player to store my photos.

Just wondering if the extra cost of wifi is worth it os...

I have a palmOne Tungsten E. I am at home and not travelling at the moment:( It has wifi capability, but I have yet to use it outside my backyard. My brother-in-law has a much more expensive model and uses it all the time when he travels for work. Then again he doesn't travel outside of the US. For what his cost, I don't think the expense was worth it. I just think, when they are as small as they are, it is easy to take, even if you can't use it everywhere.
This might help...

If a lot of the places your going to be visiting have it, I would get it! And they are adding hundreds of places all the time. We are truly going to be a wireless world!:)
