"Bare in mind I'm still impressionable and naive to the whole concept of travelling."

When traveling you might meet up with other similar aged tourists. But be careful that you safeguard your computer, money, passport and valuables from random strangers you meet on the road. You don't want to end up flat broke overseas.

If your "new friends" are dopers keep in mind that for some countries you can be executed for possession of dope that might be allowed in other countries. Or thrown in a crappy jail for many years! Same for getting stupid drunk and causing trouble. Some countries it is a good idea to not insult their king or ruling authority or they can throw you in jail! (Lèse-majesté laws.)

Once you are away from your home country the rules are different, especially for some Asian and Middle Eastern countries.

Karazyal is correct. These are the best suggestions on this thread. If you are new to traveling, cautions should be taken. A good idea would be to learn the customs of the country or countries that you intend to visit. Respect them and follow them and you will have some good experiences. Each country has its own set of customs and rules.
