Oh my god!
That poor guy.
Personally I dont think I could have done it myself. Saying that I suppose that after a while you must become almost delerious with pain and hunger.
He's certainly alot braver than me.

Phew, I hate to speculate on that but I'd say yes... although, I would probably wait a good 4/5 days first in the hope someone would find me first!

Saw him on David Letterman a few months ago. He's one strong man, strong at heart, that is.

I think I could have done it too, but not so soon. And I might even make a mess out of it too, like breaking the wrong bone.

Yeah, I saw an interview with that guy on Irish tv. What a guy - he seemed so (unphased isnt the right word....)....um...accepting I suppose of what he had to do. I suppose if death has stared you right in the face and you had to cut off your arm to stay alive you'd accept it too.

A very inspirational guy - fully intends to pursue climbing...

I think under the circumstances, your survival instinct kicks in and you would do whatever it takes to live...I know I would!!

Sometimes, but sometimes pain is so intense...you would welcome death with open arms...

or in this case..an open arm!
