Again, your query makes no sense with no info. Beating around the bush and trying to make guesses about what is perhaps a complicated situation is a total waste of time.

Bottom line: If you were charged with a crime or even if you were simply under investigation then in my opinion you're screwed, Korean Immigration will know and you'll be red flagged upon entry which at the very best means instant deportation and at the worst means jail. South Korea doesn't fool around.

I suggest you hire a professional with whom you can finally be honest and forthcoming about your situation. This obviously isn't the place to pose vague questions and magically expect to receive useful answers.

Good luck.

Cheers,
Terry

"So do you think it's possible the banks are sharing information with immigration?"

My guess is that if what you did constitutes a crime committed by a foreigner your name might alert the proper authorities when you visit.

I certainly wouldn't like to be in a Korean jail! (Or any jail!)

You buy your tickets you take your chances!

It's never going to be as easy as changing or renewing a passport in order to avoid being detected for a crime, so in my opinion, if you would have alerted the authorities with your old one then the same will go for your new one too.
