i suggest few days in bangkok and visit grand palace as cdntrvl suggested. party in bangkok..hmmm so many places to suggest..silom soi 4, bed supper club, barbican , xchange , lucifer silom etc.no boat from bangkok. fullmoon party in Pha - Ngam island is on 20 August. so you should plan yourself to be there by that date..suggested one day earlier to get some fun before the fullmoon.

i could offer you combination package from bangkok to pha-ngan including bus+ferry to pha-ngan or if you wish to enjoy in chaweng , samui first..it's also a good choice.

let me know if you need more info or help on booking cheap hotel and tours.

thanks. very helpful. i could use some good info on where to find cheap plane tickets. ive looked everywhere and everything is just outrageous. im in guam and were not far from these kind of places. i wouldnt think the plane tickets would be that high. im talking like 1300 dollars (US) is the cheapest i could find. any help i would appreciate

I would suggest taking an overnight train down to Surathani and then getting a boat from there to Koh Samui or Koh Phangan. Combined tickets for both train and boat (and transfer to the boat) cost about 700 bhat and are available from any travel agents in Bangkok. I would definately recommend the train over the bus, as the buses aren't comfy and are renowned for people having their bags interferred with and things being stolen.

Bottle Beach on the North of Koh Phangan is beautiful. ask any Taxi or tuk-tuk driver to take you there and they'll deliver you at the boat to take you there (about 50 bhat). It's lovely and quiet, but there's more than enough people to share beers with in the evening and they run boats to hat rin for the full moon party too.
