This may seem like a really silly question but I want to be organised! I am visiting Canada for 3 months on a student placement programme from August-October this year. I am going to be working at a farm specialising in breeding/selling/competing horses. I won't be paid but will get free accommodation/board/training.
My question is - will I need a VISA for this visit? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Since you are studying, I believe you will need a student visa.
Please see http://canadainternational.gc.ca/gtc/Study_in_Canada-en.aspx for further information on coming to Canada to study.
To be sure, it is best to contact the Canadian embassy or consulate in your home country. Hope this helps.
It must depend on how much time you spend there.. Usually, if you stay for more than 3 months.. you will have to ask for a student visa
