Hi everyone!😁

I'm thinking of going to either Sydney or Melbourne sometime in Febuary 2016 for one year on a working holiday visa. I'm still soo undecided on which city to start off in.. So if anyone could give me some advice it would be much appreciated!! I don't think I'm going to do any of the packages to be honest as it seems easy enough to do all that stuff yourself.

I'm going solo so if any of you are going around the same time let me know!!?

By the way, I'm from London and I'm 20.

I look forward to hearing from you

Hi there. I'm reading through a lot of forums and it sounds like you are unsure on where to go etc.. Im in the same boat, i want to go Australia around FEB 2016, I'm thinking on getting a working visa, in order to be able to work if needed but i really want to just explore :) i haven't got a clue where i want to start or end up so if you have any suggestions could you let me know. i am also thinking about travelling to the likes of Thailand etc before Australia, but once again i wouldn't know were to start.

Im 24 from Liverpool going solo

if anybody is in the same boat and would like to chat let me know, or give me any information would be great..

Thanks Brian

Hey Brian,

I think most people are a bit up in the air when it comes to planning but I'm hoping that as long as you have your visa, flight and first destination chosen sorted then the rest will just kind of fall into place :p

My flight leaves for Sydney on April 7th, I plan on chilling with family there for a couple of weeks but then I want to start travelling around and maybe look into doing farming work so that I can secure my 2nd year visa. Do you have any ideas where you will be heading for first?

If anyone wants to add me on fb feel free and we can chat/make plans I'm under Emma Mulcahy :) I think it would be great to make connections now and then when we're all out there at least we know there are other people doing the same that we can catch up with :D

Chat soon,

Hi my name is Joe, I am traveling to Australia at the beginning of February.
Dont know were to get a flight too tho.
I was thinking of flying to Perth, the reason being is because my friends brother lives near there.
He said he can guide me somewhere i can buy a car.
Hopefully from there once I have a car sorted, I would like to travel from Perth to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney then to Brisbane.

If I was to do this roadtrip, I would much prefer to do this with somone or with a few of us.

If anyone thinks that this is a good idea and would like to join, please feel free to get back to me.
Or if anyone wants to talk about ideas they have, I am all game.
My Facebook: Joe Shaw

Kind Regards Joe

Hey Mary,

Feburary will be the last month of summer so I'd actually suggest Melbourne over Sydney. Since Australia is so big with such a small population, people move around allot. During winter months people travel north for the warmer climate with more outdoor activities and camping. During the summer months, there are large amounts of festivals down south. Around Christmas time people are more in Brisbane/ NSW area. Where there is people traveling, it means the high season for work is also in these places. (this is all assuming you are just traveling the East coast) I'm not too familiar with Western Australia, but I'm sure there are plenty of info on the internet.

As for traveling alone, Australia is really safe, but you might want travel buddies to help share travel costs. You can take greyhound, but if you can gather enough travel mates to rent a camper (or they might already have a car and you can camp everywhere, lots of free spots.) To do that, just search backpacker+ (your location) on Facebook and you'll see lots of groups pop up. By specifying location you'll be sure to find people in the city you're starting from that are trying to travel outwards.

Oh and one last thing, if you're flexible with your February travel date, I suggest looking online to see if there's anything that strikes your fancy first. I missed white night making the mistake of not checking if there will be cool events. (white night is a city wide light/art show. Lots for Free!)

Hey guys!!
I'm victoria I'm 26 also travelling to oz in Feb. I'm travelling with an old school friend and we've booked a camper to drive down the east coast. We're starting off in cairns and stopping in Sydney. We're doing that over 6weeks, I'll be returning home afterwards to plan more travels but my friend will be staying out there to do working visa. It'll be nice to meet people along the drive if anyone has the same ideas or would like to meet along the way. 😊
