Hien: With high fever and all, I would have forgotten what they were monitoring too.

Btw, malaria is not a zoonotic disease, I was trying to say vector-borne disease. My mistake =).

You heard it right, im a dengue survivor when i was in my second year college. Here's the story:

It was weird because it was not only me that has the fever for four days, my brother and sister had it too. When we got to the hospital we found out that it was Dengue but i was the only one who caught the REAL DISEASE.

The symptoms are on/off fever, lost of appetite, dizziness, weakening of the body, and i tend to throw up almost every minute. No sleep for me! When I was finally confined to the hospital (after four days), the doctor revealed that dengue virus tend to disable your immune system by eating your white blood cells (that's how he explained it if my memory served me well. i'm not tech-y when it comes to med terms). We had to look for White Blood Cell Donor but to be safe about it, we just paid Red Cross to give me some...

My brother and sister, after been given the right medicine for fever, were both healed.

THE REST IS HISTORY. (all's well that ends well...hahaha)
YEah, here i am sharing my story...I still see myself as a survivor.

To be honest, Dengue is not a disease to be feared. You just needed an open mind about it. What you're doing will help you a lot -- research. ALways remember: PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.

Be safe,
Lea
