hi Johannat,

Klagenfurt is a really beautiful old Austrian town. Its situated on Lake Worthersee. It's full of fabulous buildings and courtyards. It's feels like the safest place in the world to me. HOw long will you be there for?

There are some distinctive sights in Klagenfurt. In the centre of the town square - the Neuer Platz - there is a statue of the LIndwurm (dragon). The cathedral and town hall are quite impressive. And there is a collection known as Minimundus ( i think that's it) - its basically a collection of miniatures the worlds most famous buildings.

I think Klagenfurt is a great spot to be based because its really at the heart of Europe. An hour or so will get you to Slovenia, Italy, Hungary. As you probably already know, Klagenfurt has its own airport and also the rail network is Austria is fantastic, so from here you can really see some of Europe.

I found the people there so obliging and friendly. I'm not sure you'll find a roaring nightlife there, but it certainly is a lovely part of Austria.

Hope you enjoy your time there!;)
