I'm Charlotte and I'm 26 from England. I've wanted to travel for as long as I can remember but the one thing holding me back is the thought of going alone (I'm a wimp I know.) All my close friends are settled down and starting families but I have seriously itchy feet! My BF isn't in the position to travel either but I'm determined to go in 2016 because if I don't I'm going to seriously regret it. I'm hoping to find another friendly female, around the same age or in a similar situation, who would be interested in planning a trip together. There's so many places I want to visit so I'm really not fussed where I start. I just want get out and explore the world!
If anyone else out there can relate I'd love to hear from you :-)

Hey Charlotte :) I'm Emma (24 from Ireland) I will be heading to Australia in April, flights are booked and all! I'm in the exact same position as you I've wanted to travel for a long time but all of my friends were taking too long so I've just taken the plunge and have decided to go it alone.

First stop is Sydney, I plan to travel the country but would definitely be open to revisiting south east Asia and other places. The world is a big place :)

Let me know what your plans are, sounds like we're in the same boat

I'm in the same situation as you both....I'm 23 and going on my own...I fly in 2 weeks to Melbourne and starting with family then start my travelling from 4th Feb!

Would be great if I could meet up and do a bit of travelling together....

I'm travelling to Thailand in March no flights booked yet. In a very similar situation 26 years old, love to go travelling but so scared to go on my own. Works given me between 8-12 weeks off.
Where are you thinking of going and when?
Thanks coral :):)

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for getting back to me, its so good to know I'm not alone :-)
I would love to go Thailand and work my way to Australia to travel the East Coast and see Alice Springs etc. I thought about leaving around March time for a few months. I've looked at tours but they are more expensive than doing it yourself so that would be a last resort. I'm not thinking of getting a WHV for Australia as I've already applied for a Canadian IEC Visa for end of 2016. The scary thing is March is only a couple of months away and I still have no concrete plans!

Hi Charlotte,
I haven't booked anything yet in terms of flights or travel. Looking on the Internet the 24th seems a good date to go, I also have no plans on where to go. I'm planning on starting my journey in Bangkok. Let me know if you are interested

Hi Coral,
I'm definitely interested! :) 24th March sounds like a good start date as I have to back in UK by 25th June.

Hi Everyone!
Im in exactly the same situation, im 26 from Ireland and just moved home from the UK. My friends are the same as yours Charlotte, settling down having babies and buying houses I know if i dont go now I will always regret it too. Im dying to go to Australia and New Zealand, Bali, Thailand, i dont mind how I do it really or where else I go. Im so scared to go alone too. I travelled America before and it was amazing but daunting doing it alone. Im thinking August just so i can get funds together really but everyone else seems really keen to go sooner :( I have a friend in Dubai, Vietnam and a few scattered in Australia so that will be of some help. Looking forward to hearing back from you!

Hi Eamie,
Thats all sounds very familiar! Good for you going it alone, your braver than I am and its great that you have friends in so many different places. I've spent more time exploring the States over the past few years and have friends out there but I want to see another part of the world. Last year I did Camp American but having to come home and go back to my office job after 10 weeks away sucked! This time I'm saving as much as I can so I take the plunge, give up work and travel. I haven't made any plans yet as I was hoping to meet people first.

Sounds good, add me on Facebook and we can see if we can sort something out. I was also looking at arranged trips and like you say are very expensive and would work out a lot more money than doing it alone/with friend.
My name on Facebook is coral baker let me know if you can't find me 😃
