Planning on going travelling starting next January here is the places we've came up with so far.
Manchester - Goa for New year
Goa - Kuala Lumpur
Kuala Lumpur - langkawi
Langkawi - chiang Mai
Chiang Mai - krabi
Krabi -koh samui by ferry
Koh samui - bangkok

Still need to decide where to go after Thailand but how does that look so far?

Hi Adele, maybe Vietnam? Bangkok - Hanoi only 2 hours fly. I recommend Vietnam:)

It seems like you'd be doing an awful lot of back tracking on yourself with the flights.
Could start with doing Thailand first before Malaysia.
Goa - Bangkok
Bangkok - Chiang mai (overnight train)
Chiang mai - Krabi
Krabi - Koh Samui (Bus/Ferry)
To get to Langkawi, there is flights from Samui but stop in KL. Or there is a mini bus, we got this from Krabi and was a bearable journey.
Langkawi - Kualu Lumpur.

There is many alternatives, such as flying to Phuket from Chiang mai, and then catching a ferry to Phi Phi which is along the way to Krabi.

Hi Liam thanks for your help.

The reason we choose KL first was because there are no direct flights coming up from goa to Thailand they all go via KL.
We thought we would be best to end up in Bangkok last as if we are going over to Vietnam etc it gives us the biggest options in flights.
