Tell me about it!
Not many people seem to think caring for the earth is vital.
Oh we have to look after peopke! People are sooooooo important!
Look at the bloody bigger picture! Earth and the majority of it's inhabitants were here first! So why the hell are people putting people first? If people really cared about people then they'd make sure the place for people is still there for future people
My housemate winges sumink mental! Cos he wants to work for the NHS, ooooo your so selfish, why don't you want to help people?!

What we have to realise is that we are destroying the very thing that keeps us alive, i'm not perfect - no one is
(well maybe that leopard guy with the tatoos :) )
If protecting the planet is not helping people....what is?
I know i can't save the planet......(?) but i'm gonna get out there, travel the world's national parks and be the best bloody environmental educator there is! I'll get kids to realise what they have to do, it'll a better education than they ever get in school!

  • Ok, rant over*

The earth will be fine...that little species called 'humans' are the ones I am worried about.......We are only killing ourselves. We will end up extinct...and the earth will still be here.

ummm cupcake... we are killing everything as well - all of the animals and plants and ecosystems. Granted they will live on in some other form and in thousands of years perhaps the earth will heal itself.

We are not only hurting ourselves but everyone that is around us now and everyone that is going to follow in our footsteps.

The oldest dinosaur types are known from rocks in Argentina and Brazil and are about 230 million years old.

Humans have had control of the Earth for how long ? ... Yet have done the most damage to it.

Humans have been around for about 10,000 years....don't worry about the earth...the earth will heal its self...We need a 'save the humans' day...My opinion? The dinosaurs will have wayyyy outlasted us..because there is no way that we will last millions of years...

Humans have been around for about 10,000 years...

more like 1 000 000 (and new archeological discoveries move that date further).

unfortunately on Earth Day I had to travel on an airplane through the 6 time zones - but the rest of the year it's a bicycle

thats awsome MassageUK! I have riden my bike for the last year and its great. I have the plane thing too though...

And actaully Homo Sapiens have been around for about 5,000,000 (five million) years. If you are a believer in Evolution that is. If you a believer in Religion I guess it is a bit shorter than that

Your source? The very OLDEST (very early) human fossil every found is apox.160,000 years old. NO where near a million. Dinosaurs were here for 180,000,000 years..that is a HUGE difference.
