Hey everyone!

I need some advice and insight into El Camino de Santiago (The Way of St. James) in Spain. I am planning to travel from Barcelona to Logrono and then to Paris using this trail but I don't know much about it.

If anyone has been on the trail I was wondering what the terrain is like generally and what you packed. I also have heard there are stops along the way where you can pay a small fee to board for the night.

Also, where does one get food along the way. I was planning to bring dried rice and beans along but I won't be able to carry a month's supply. Where could I pick up more along the way? I am traveling on a budget and I am a vegetarian so any low cost veggie food suggestions would be helpful!

Thanks

Check out the standard guide to the trail: "A Pilgrim's Guide to the Camino De Santiago" by John Brierley. It contains maps of the trail showing places to stay and where to get food and water etc.

For a more casual read, have a look at the book "Sinning Across Spain" by Alisa Piper, which is a well-written account of a walk along the trail that is driven by a unique motivation.
